The Virtual Nation is an educational destination for Virtual Professionals around the globe. It is our goal to offer a variety of educational opportunities and resources for Virtual Professionals to use in order to grow their businesses successfully.
What is the difference between a Virtual Assistant and a Virtual Professional?
There are many definitions of a Virtual Assistant, we will attempt to provide a short, succinct definition for you to easily understand.
A Virtual Assistant is one who works remotely for multiple clients on a contract basis providing administrative, creative and/or technical services while in a long-term, project or temporary but collaborative relationship with each client.
A Virtual Professional can be a Virtual Assistant, Coach, Graphic Designer, Website Designer, Internet Marketer, Telecommuter, Freelancer, Road Warrior, and basically anyone who works in a non-traditional role (not in a brick and mortar setting) performing any number of services in his/her professed industry while home-based, on the road, or otherwise.
Why do we offer so many free resources?
It all started by doing our own research for a variety of resources. Our list of favorite resources grew and grew. We decided not to keep our best resources a secret, so we started putting them on our website and it keeps growing. We'll continue to do so until we reach a point where we may need to add a search feature of our own to best suit our members' needs.
Do you have volunteer opportunities for new Virtual Professionals (VPs)?

What do they charge?
New VPs with little or some experience doing mostly general administrative tasks run about $25-$30/hr. They are mostly new business owners and may not be savvy in their own businesses yet. They may be great in performing their services, but not act as a business collaborator with you yet. As they gain experience and knowledge each year, their rates will likely also increase each year.
For someone who is highly experienced, they probably have 5 or more years experience running their business, have a niche market or niche skills and charge about $75/hr on up. This level of professional may also act as a consultant, guiding you through some unchartered territory and help you see the BIG picture of where your business could be. They are typically well connected in the industry and can act as your personal/professional resource guide.
